How do I remove the air filters from my ’73 CB350 twin?

I recently bought a 1973 Honda CB350 twin and tuning it up a bit. However, I can’t figure out how to remove the air filters. I’ve removed the carbs (and rebuilt them), the seat, the gas tank (to clean/reseal it), and the plastic covers over the air filter. How do I open the black metal boxes with the filter element?
Oh… I’ve also removed the battery. (and the bike is a CB350G, if that matters)

the air filter covers that i remember had a bolt in the lower part of the cover on the front it went all the way across through both filters so you have to hold it on one side and turn the other side
the end of the nuts looked like a spear and were brass

the spear end fits into a rubber grommet on the outer cover that pulls off
