The water level in my pool is draining like mad?

My stupid dog chewed up toilet paper, and it all wound up in the in-ground pool. We cleaned it all out, and checked the filters, and nothing appears to be wrong, ut for some reason the water level in the pool is dropping like crazy, and has only been doing this since the dog got it in the pool? What could be wrong with it? I don’t see how toilet paper could be doing anything? Help?

The dog did not go in the pool, so there are no tears in the lining, and the water level is dropping too much for it to just be heat.

maybe its a coinsidence & its because its so hot around this time of the year.

  • jitterbugjims says:

if you did a backwash make sure your handle is fully back in the filter position.on a hayward filter if it isnt down in the little hole it will start a syphon that will go out your backwash line.good luck.

what kind of surface do you have? a way to trouble shoot the leak is to turn off the filters let the water just drop and where it stops you will be able to find the leak using food coloring around the areas to see where it sucks in at. or to see if the leak is in a pipe plug all fitting in the pool and one by one pull them out until it starts to leak again. or pay a leak detector about 300 to 400 dollars to do the same thing for you. a dog did not do this. and you will need to mark a water line every day to know when it is no longer leaking.

Do you have a light in your pool, my co worker had a bad problem with a leak around the light in his pool.
