1981 Suzuki GS850G. Has four carbs. Each carb has rubber boot that goes from air intake on carb to the airbox. Can I replace that setup with individual air filters (one for each carb)? If yes, will I then need to retune the carbs or anything since the airflow is no longer restricted?

Yes K & N make them.
yup you can do dat! K and N makes em,or find some cool velocity stacks to use. Intake doesnt effect your jetting. If you use velocity stacks I would get some foam inserts for them.
yes you can but you will have to re-jet the carbs
if you are going to do this you might as well replace the stock exhaust with a good 4 into1
You’ll get a whole lot of “intake honk” which translates into noise. Loud exhaust can sound cool but loud intake noise sounds really crappy.
Yes, it can be done. You will want to at least check the tune. It may or may not require re-jetting. Only checking will show for sure.
You may (possibly will) get more intake noise.
I did this with a ’79 GS425L. The smaller motor was a twin, intake noise was not noticeable. I used Emgo filters. They come with their own rubber attachment. The entire boot and airbox part of the system was removed.
