With my coffee-maker, the filters tend to fold inward when you shut the door. Therefore, the large portion of dropping hot water does not get directed through the coffee grounds. The coffee ends up weak. How do you prevent this? There must be some simple trick, right?

Put another filter on top of it, I’m familiar with that problem from work.
Are you using the right filter for that model?
Anyway, easy solution. Just cut the sides down an 1/8 inch or so. That way they can’t folder over because they aren’t hitting anything on the side when you close it.
the right way!!
Yep, been there. I rinse the coffee basket with water, even though it’s clean. When it’s wet, the filters tend to stick to the sides a little better and keeps them from folding over.
Your local walmart should carry permanent filters. Theyre made of plastic and a mesh metal screen and last a really long time. You can remove them to clean them.
I think we have all had this problem at least once. What I do is after putting the coffee in I sort of pack it down with the scoop and am careful when I close it to make sure the filter doesn’t fold. Seems to work pretty well.
