Product Description
Considering that water makes up over 95-percent of each cup of coffee (even if you added a copius amount of sugar), microscopic particles and minerals can contaminate the taste of even the best cup of coffee or tea. What a catastrophe if the prime ingredients that fill each Keurig K-Cup meet with distasteful water. Unfortunately, many areas of the USA still have relatively hard water. That’s where the Keurig 5072 Water Filter Replacement becomes an essential accesso… More >>

This filter is an additional level of assurance that the coffee produced by the Keurig single cup will be the best tasting possible. The filter is easy to replace and has a handy date reminder as well. I think that this would be especially valuble in water systems with various impurities

I was shocked when my Keurig brewer recommended using filtered or distilled water. At first I used tap water but worried about the side-effects of mineral build up on my much loved Keurig. Filling the water tank several times a day with bottled water was an expensive hassle. This little filter solved the problem. I was really surprised that using the filter made such a distinct difference in the flavor of my coffee and tea. Installation is quick and easy and there is no maintenance to worry about –nothing to do but enjoy your beverages for 60 days since each charcoal cartridge lasts for two months. The filter also has a reminder that you set to help you remember when to put in a new filter cartridge. This is a definite must for hassle free enjoyment of your Keurig. The small price greatly increases the value of your expensive Keurig brewer. Get this and change the filter as needed. You will love your Keurig even more!

I purchased this water filter without knowing that the water filters cannot be used in Keurigs purchased before August 2007. In my Keurig water reservoir, the slots to hold the water filter housing is missing. I called Keurig Customer Service to order a new reservoir explaining why I wanted a new reservoir, they offered to send me a replacement water reservoir for free if I provided the serial number from the machine. Almost a month later, I received the EXACT same reservoir that’s missing the slots. So, called Keurig again. Now they say that there is no replacement reservoir available and that I would need to buy a new Keurig machine if I want to use the water filter. No thanks.

The water in our area has kind of a metallic taste to it (not too bad, but bad enough), so I thought I’d try this and see if it made any improvement to an already good cup of coffee.
I have a Keurig B40 Elite that I bought this past October. After soaking and rinsing the filter as per the instructions, I installed it, and made a cup of coffee. Well, I *tried* to make a cup. The coffee maker sounded like a vacuum cleaner with a hamster caught in the hose, and the water level in the reservoir didn’t drop at all. I turned it off, pulled the filter unit out and left it out, tried again and it worked fine.
I tried a couple more times using the filter; filling the reservoir and then snapping the filter unit in place; putting the filter in, then filling it and letting it sit overnight, but nothing I tried would allow the pump to pull water through it.
I guess if I want filtered water, I’ll have to filter it before I fill the reservoir.

Our tap water needs to be filtered…this was the perfect solution. Can’t say that I actually ‘taste’ a difference in the non-filtered vs. the filtered, but knowing what isn’t in my coffee now makes me feel better.
