I don’t know if the filters come in different colors, but a basic filter I guess? It’s blue. My problem is. .I went to replace the old one and the old one and new one got mixed up. After the mix up I tried them both and they worked no red line or nothing. And I was wondering if you could tell the difference between a new one and old? and if so how?

I have the pur system as well, just put one on and see how long it takes for the red line to show up. You may have some life left in your old filter, and that’s why it is not registering a red line yet. Also, if you take your old filter turn it upside down in the sink and shake out some of the water you can extend the life of the filter. I do it all the time, and it does not effect the taste of the water.
